Was the Harlem Renaissance located in Kansas or New York?

So i'm doing a project on the Harlem Renaissance and i've been researching all week. I thought, this was located in Manhattan, Kansas. But, i just found that there is also a Manhattan, New York and some say that's where this took place. Which is correct?
