Is me dating her a good idea?

Hey there is this girl I have built a fairly strong friendship with. Now the weird part is she's 17 and I'm 16. So she has had 50 year old men come onto her. I know she is sick of it, and I believe that if I was to date her it would be a nice relief for her. Me being a year younger and all. I've let her know that the pedophiles sicken me, and she deserves better. So tell me? What do you think of this. Lol I kept her up till two the night before texting about music, and stupid things we both have done. Lol
